HAMMAMET, Tunisia (April 7, 2018) – THF Chairman and World Taekwondo President Dr. Chungwon Choue met with the President of Ethiopia Taekwondo Federation Mr. Dawit Asfaw in margin of the World Taekwondo Youth Olympic Games 2018 qualification tournament taking place from April 6 to 7, 2018 in Hammamet, Tunisia. Together with THF Executive Director Mr. Roger Piarulli, Dr. Choue and Mr. Asfaw discussed the preliminary parameters of the Foundation’s next humanitarian project to be developed in Addis Ababa, following UNHCR’s advice to launch a mixed-population project in Ethiopia’s capital, host to thousands of displaced people.
The Ethiopian Taekwondo Federation will play a crucial role in the local coordination of this new endeavour of the Taekwondo Humanitarian Foundation. World Taekwondo, the Taekwondo Humanitairan Foundation and the Ethiopian Taekwondo Federation therefore signed a Memorandum of Understanding to officialise their upcoming collaboration in Ethiopia.
